Instagram live
Instagram live is, I
would say the simplest live streaming service I have personally used as its
easy to access and allows for futures that can be done easier on their rather
than how they are done on twitch or YouTube. The ability to be able to change
orientation with the click of a button allows for your stream to be more unique
and up to your personal taste. However, I would say that its lack of
flexibility when you start your stream is a downside, the fact your locked in
the orientation you start in, it means it lacks the free flow ability that I
desire. Twitch allows for easy to change cameras and orientation at ease
without it effecting the stream.
Instagram Lives shareability is a positive that you can
personally choose who will be able to view who sees your stream. For me, it
being my first time using the software, I went live just to myself to get a
feel for it, this allowed me to become more comfortable with the software
rather than throwing myself straight into the deep end like what is done on
twitch, twitch and YouTube only gives the ability to limit who can view it from
the online desktop rather than from the Xbox or PlayStation version which allow
you to go live straight from the console and doesn’t offer a limited
shareability like that of Instagram.
Instagram, I believe, has a far better tag and title for
livestream options rather that of other streaming software’s. Personally, I
didn’t see a need to share my location when I went live but the ability to
share not only what’s happening but where it’s happening allows for more
connectivity between the streamer and the viewer and allows for a better
insight into their lives. Instagram live has become, in my opinion, an almost
replica of TikTok live with its ability to add filters in an instant and tag
certain people or events in the bio, once again for me it allows me to share
what I was doing with certain individuals rather than everyone I know.
I would use Instagram
Live to share snip its of important
things that are happening, like football results, rather than to stream as it
would be harder for me to stream gaming directly from it, twitch for me will
remain the go to. However, me now knowing how it works, I could see myself
using it in the future for personal announcements and to share things with the
family as I can link them directly to the stream and would allow everyone to
receive the information in an instant.
